How we define “fast”
HonestPayouts ranks speed from the cash-out request (or study approval where that is the bottleneck), using the figures already collected in our ranking data and their sources. Figures labelled “Awaiting reports” mean we do not yet have a cited window.
Primary sources for the £/hour ranges below are Save the Student’s survey guide (updated 10 June 2026) and Survey Payout Watch’s comparison page, plus Prolific’s own participant help articles. We do not invent numbers.

Near-instant or same-day cash-outs
Qmee
Save the Student lists Qmee’s minimum payout at 1p via PayPal. Survey Payout Watch describes payouts as normally within minutes; the r/LazyMoneyUK master list (linked from our data sources) also treats Qmee as instant cash-outs of any amount. Typical £/hour in Save the Student’s test: £2–3/hr.
Freecash
Save the Student: minimum £5; methods include cash, PayPal and gift cards; typical rate £4–5/hr. Survey Payout Watch notes PayPal often under 60 seconds, with bank transfers up to about three business days. Accounts can be held for verification — factor that into “fast” expectations.
Five Surveys
Survey Payout Watch: about $5 after five surveys; PayPal/Revolut from minutes to a few hours; bank 1–2 business days. UK availability is marked unverified in our ranking until confirmed. Reader reports of cash-out errors and bans exist on SPW — treat as higher risk despite speed.
Fast, but not always instant
Prolific
Prolific’s own help: PayPal within 24 hours of cash-out, with a combined GBP+USD minimum around £6. Study approval can take up to 22 days before funds are withdrawable — so the platform feels fast once approved, but approval is the real wait. Researchers are expected to meet a £6/hr floor (£9/hr recommended); Save the Student found about £5–6/hr in practice.
Prime Opinion
Survey Payout Watch: $5 PayPal minimum; PayPal often within a few hours. Some users report account reviews before cash-out. UK status unverified in our data.
Branded Surveys
Save the Student: about 500 points (£3.80) minimum; £3–4/hr. Survey Payout Watch: Silver/Gold tiers can be instant; Bronze about 1–2 business days. UK, US and Canada only per SPW.
AttaPoll
Save the Student: £3 minimum; £3–4/hr. Survey Payout Watch: PayPal from near-instant up to roughly 24–72 hours. App-only; second accounts risk bans (SPW).
Slower or unclear windows
These sites may still be worth joining for survey volume or trust, but they are not “instant pay” picks:
- Swagbucks — STS £3–4/hr; SPW PayPal typically 1–3 business days (up to 10).
- Toluna — STS £2–3/hr, £10 minimum; SPW PayPal official window up to three weeks (gift cards often ~48h).
- YouGov — STS £3–4/hr but £50 cash threshold; payout speed awaiting reports in our data.
- Ipsos iSay, OnePoll, LifePoints, Opinium, Y Live — speed marked awaiting reports; several have £10–£50 thresholds (STS / LazyMoneyUK list).
Practical tips if speed is your priority
- Prefer sites whose minimum is low (Qmee’s 1p, AttaPoll’s £3, Freecash’s £5) so you are not stuck just under a £50 bar.
- Read the cash-out method: PayPal is usually faster than bank transfer on the same platform (Freecash/SPW).
- Expect verification holds on GPT platforms (Freecash academy and SPW both warn about this).
- Do not chase “instant £100” claims — Save the Student’s guide puts realistic survey earnings nearer £3–9/hr when you are lucky.

Always open the site’s own cash-out page before you plan around a window — operators change thresholds without updating every review site on the same day.
Honest limitations
These windows come from published tests and official help pages, mainly Save the Student and Survey Payout Watch, not from a large HonestPayouts reader sample yet. When we have five or more reader reports for a site we will publish a separate median labelled “reader-reported”. Until then, treat every figure as a cited starting point and check your own account’s cash-out screen before you rely on it.
